Orbis Sensualium Pictus - Overview
The illustrated school text book Orbis Sensualium Pictus was first published in 1658. This Latin-German edition was followed by versions in English, French, Italian, Polish, and other languages. Orbis Pictus maintained its popularity into the nineteenth century and was a model for a number of other eighteenth and nineteenth century school books.
